Extension of the Jiles-Atherton Model for Soft Magnetic Composite Materials with Regard to the Specifics of Their Magnetization

The aim of the event is to introduce attendees, through an expert lecture and a seminar, to the application of the Jiles-Atherton model to soft magnetic composite materials (SMCs). SMCs belong to the class of soft magnetic materials that are prepared by insulating ferromagnetic powders with dielectric layers and then compacting them into various final core shapes. They exhibit high frequency and field stability of magnetic permeability, high saturation magnetic polarization, and low dynamic energy losses, which is why they are widely used in practice as cores in electric motors, generators, inductors, transformers, and other electromagnetic components.

Giant Mechanical Strain Induced by a Magnetic Field

The aim of the event is to introduce attendees, through an expert lecture and a seminar, to the phenomenon of giant mechanical strain (deformation) induced by a magnetic field in magnetically active materials. It explains the fundamental physical mechanisms and the factors influencing the magnitude and reversibility of this effect. Attention is also given to experimental results and potential applications in actuators and smart systems.

Actuators based on magnetic microwires

The aim of the event is to introduce attendees, through an expert lecture and a seminar, to miniaturized actuators based on magnetic Ni-Fe-Ga microwires. Their importance is growing with current developments in robotics, optics, biomedicine, and precision engineering in general. These microactuators, which use shape-memory alloys, offer a repeatable relative elongation of up to 12% and a tunable transition temperature between -170 °C and 400 °C. Their long-term lifetime exceeds 9×10⁶ cycles, and they withstand a repeatable stress of 100 MPa.
