Giant Mechanical Strain Induced by a Magnetic Field

The aim of the event is to introduce attendees, through an expert lecture and a seminar, to the phenomenon of giant mechanical strain (deformation) induced by a magnetic field in magnetically active materials. It explains the fundamental physical mechanisms and the factors influencing the magnitude and reversibility of this effect. Attention is also given to experimental results and potential applications in actuators and smart systems.
